Oceanforce Solutions: 2020 Year in Review

We think it’s fair to speak for most people in saying that 2020 was bananas. Between COVID-19 and the U.S. Presidential Election, there has been no shortage of headlines in the news.

As we reflect back upon 2020, we’re not going to lie and say we’re sorry to see it go but that we’re looking forward to 2021 with more optimism.

From a business perspective, we were fortunate to maintain our relationships with key clients and forge new ones as well. We’ve surpassed our goals for client retention and our growth targets were only slightly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we look back on 2020, there were some key events in our world related to BMC Helix Remedyforce and Salesforce.com. Here’s a few thoughts we’ve put together on those topics.

BMC Helix Remedyforce

BMC successful launched their Summer ’20 Release that became generally available in August. This included expansions on some of the core features related to the Remedyforce Console, Self-Service 3.0, Remedyforce CMDB and Remedyforce Administration.

We’ve helped clients navigate the upgrades and maintain operations with little to no disruption to their day-to-day business.

Further helping our clients, we recommended and performed many Remedyforce Health Checks with our clients and prospects, and identified potential pitfalls they may have with their current implementations.

We also participated in the BMC Partner & 3rd Party Vendor Webinar Series. We are grateful to Keith Poulus from InTrust Bank and Laurie Bryan from Landstar System for their participation and sharing their success stories related to their own BMC implementations.

The 2021 roadmap for BMC Helix Remedyforce has many more exciting new features planned that we know will help our customers take even more advantage of the platform.

Salesforce.com

One of the more common questions we get is “How is Remedyforce connected to Salesforce?”. This inspired a blog post where we offer a straightforward explanation. Many of our clients have expertise in-house on one platform or the other, but rarely both. We hope this helps people understand how they knit together.

Salesforce also released their Summer ’20 update to the world. We wrote a summary of some our impressions on the latest features that you can read here. We were particularly fond of the improvements made to the Salesforce Surveys and have clients using that feature regularly now.

Looking Forward

No one can say what the future holds, but we’re excited for it. We celebrated 3 years in business in May of 2020 and are excited for continued growth while working with our great partners and clients.
